Two fun facts that demonstrate how the media transmit news about climate these days.
Fun fact 1
Demetris Koutsoyiannis, my professor and a well-known denier, recently published a paper with the title “Revisiting the global hydrological cycle: is it intensifying?“. If you read the abstract, you’ll see that his answer to the question he poses is “no”.
The article became a hit. It was the most popular article of that journal in 2020. What does the marketing department of EGU think it says? (EGU is the organization that publishes that journal.) They think it talks about a “potential intensification of the global hydrologic cycle“, a finding that they group together with “extremely hot summers”.
Fun fact 2
